December Daily 25 second page - 29 (30/31 are documenting pages I will not be posting)

Welcome....  the journey through December has almost come to an end for this first time DD person.  I am so happy to have taken the leap and completed my DD. ;)

Day 25 Second Page
For noon I spend Christmas Day with my Mom's family.  It has been a tradition for many years to have an ice cream making contest between my Dad and cousin.  My Dad has always won with the crank ice cream maker over the electric maker.

Day 26

Santa takes a break and watches Christmas chick flicks all day in her pjs! :)  We received more snow today.  I did not take pictures...  so I cut the two above photos from a magazine.

Day 27
Time to take the tree down, and clean house.  It was kind of a lazy day after that... catching up on DD pages.

Day 28
It snowed again this day...  I still needed to scrap our favorite books.

Dec 29

More snow and cold.... now this is the December we normally have!
I have completed the 30th and 31st with my documentation!
  • December 30th I documented my goal I set for 2014... It was to get my youngest 2 sons books caught up!!!  Dance of joy taking place now!!!  I have 5 more layouts to do of my oldest (besides Christmas this year) and I'm caught up with him also!

  • December 31st I have documented my goals for 2015...  Scrapping related:
    • 1. I want to stay caught up with my sons,
    • 2. Get caught up with my "Life after 50" book to document my view of life I started in October when I turned 50 ;) , and
    • 3. Scrap my vacations that I have taken with my parents for 2011 & 2012. (I have 2013 almost completed so I will finish before I go to the other 2 years.)
So my DD is finished!!!  Now to get photos printed so I can document Christmas for my sons.

December Daily 17 - 25 first page

Welcome scrappy friends!!!  I have been busy getting caught up on my December Daily!

Day 17
Boots, gloves, and scarf...  the normal necessities of December here!  Tags will document the unusual warm December we had until this point, and how December has been in the past.

Day 18
My Mom brought me the Christmas Cherry bread that she makes every year...  I'm including the recipe as part of this page.

Day 19
Present wrapping day...  I found a free printable of tags that I used and saved so I can include on each of the boy's Christmas scrapbook pages.

Day 20
Each pocket holds the boy's 2015 ornament they received in their stocking.  The pocket behind has a photo of an ornament with a story for me.  My 2015 ornament will be used on my DD 2015. :)

Day 21
It is the first day of winter and still no snow....   Just wanted to document since I'm not getting any snow pages used up!

Day 22
We finally put up the tree!  My youngest 2 sons would not help me so I had to wait for my oldest to come home from college.  (5 foot tree next year!)  I will be including a journaling tag explaining the story of the Santa topper...  I made before the boys were born.

Day 23
Finally a dusting of snow.

Day 24 - 2 pages
A family tradition is to attend church.
Then it is off to my parents house for supper and presents.  The Christmas tree photo is the cover of the 8 photo book that I attached to the page.  The snow is gone already... so no white Christmas.

Day 25 page 1
Every Christmas morning my sons open their gifts from Santa.  The photos from that morning are in the book tucked inside the pocket page that is attached to the page.

The rest of my pages will be posted tomorrow I hope!  Thank you for stopping by to check out my pages!

You Know All Those Things...

Welcome and Happy New Year!!!  My layout was inspired by sketch 104 from Let's Capture Our Memories
Another senior picture documented.

The paper are from my scrap bin,  and embellishments from my miscellaneous tin I'm trying to use up.

The sketch can be found here.
Thank you for stopping by and have a scrappy new year!

Welcome friends... and Happy New Year!!!  Today's layout was inspired by week 4 sketch from Let's Get Sketchy.
I stayed with the polaroid frame and film strip concept of the sketch to document the 2 senior pictures.

The background paper is Kaisercraft Base Coat Collection, the film strip I made with my border punch, DIRT is a fussy cut from Echo Park - All About A Boy Collection, and the polaroid frames are from Crate Paper - Open Road Collection. The stars and twine I pulled from my stash.

The sketch can be found here.

Thank you for stopping by to take a closer look at my layout...  I will be back shortly with another sketch challenge layout.

Guys Night Out

Welcome scrappy friends...  I'm sharing a layout that was inspired by a sketch from Scrapbook Challenges.  I flipped the sketch background so I could fit my over sized tags across the layout.
This was a fun layout to make!

Supplies:  the background is white cardstock, tags and border strips are made from orange cardstock, the striped border strips are from my scrap bin, and the triangle is Echo Park - That's My Boy - Adventure.  I also used some of my metal items I had sitting on my desk.

The sketch can be found here.

Thank you for stopping by... and Merry Christmas!

On The Farm

Welcome scrappy friends....   This layout was inspired by a sketch from Stuck?! Sketches.  I used larger photos than the sketch had but stayed with the same layout.
More senior pictures...  my pile is dwindling!

Supplies include: Moxxie - Farm Livin' - Barnyard background paper, the title is from Out on a Limb, the tractor is from Leaky Shed Studio, the twine is from the etsy shop Spiegel Mom Scrap, the papers are from my scrap bin, and the enamel dots I made from pony beads.

The sketch can be found here.

Thank you for stopping by....  and Merry Christmas!

Country Boy

Welcome scrappy friends...  This layout was inspired by a sketch from Let's Get Sketchy.  I stayed with the sketch layout except I turned the photos to be portrait instead of landscape.
More senior pictures.... almost done with the pile.

Supplies are all from my scrap bin except the gray cardstock background.

The sketch can be found here.

Thank you for looking... and Merry Christmas!

Happy Times

Welcome!  This layout was inspired by a sketch from Sketch N Scrap
Another senior picture done... this was a sketch I had to use a little bit of imagination...  I think the clouds work instead of circles and Santa with his sleigh.

Supplies:  the background is the teal side of Echo Park - That's My Boy paper, the sun, tag, strips, and clouds I made from scraps from my scrap bin, True Story journaling card and Happy Times is Elle Studio,  Original card is from Simple Stories Awesome, and the Tough banner is from the 12 x 12 sticker sheet Echo Park - All About A Boy.

The sketch can be found here.

Thank you for stopping by and Merry Christmas!

Where I Come From

Merry Christmas!  This senior pictures layout was inspired by a sketch from My Scraps & More Sketches.
A country boy at heart...

The supplies used are green cardstock for the background, banners and strip of pattern paper are from my scrap bin, title strip is from a Teresa Collins - Hello My Name Is collection, and the tags are American Crafts - DIY Shop Collection.  I used a partial tag and adjusted it so the words weren't upside down on the bottom tag. Not that I would read the tag, but it would have bugged me if I didn't adjust!
The sketch can be found here.
Thank you for stopping by... and Merry Christmas!

Life Begins When The Season Starts

Welcome friends!  This senior picture baseball layout was inspired by a sketch from Creative Scrappers.  I am sad to hear they will no longer be providing sketch challenges after January 2015.
Last baseball layout for my oldest son...

The supplies were gifted to me by a scrapbook friend.

You can find the sketch here.

Thank you for providing sketches!  It has helped me get caught up on scrapping my 3 sons.

Here & Now Totally You

Welcome back scrappy friends!  This is another layout inspired by a sketch from Let's Capture Our Memories
The photo is another senior picture.  I only have a few photos left to document...

The supplies are scraps from a kit I made from my stash.

You can find the sketch here.  I did not have the smaller photos so used a 5 x 7 like one of the design team's example.

Thank you for stopping by and Merry Christmas!

American Made

Welcome friends... And Merry Christmas!  Today I'm sharing a layout inspired by a sketch from Let's Capture Our Memories
My oldest son was born on flag day, and decided to display his interpretation on his back

The supplies used are from my scrap bin except for the 2 pieces of cardstock used on the background.

The sketch can be found here.

Thank you for stopping by... I will be back shortly with LCOM sketch #103.

December Daily 11 - 16

Welcome back scrappy friends...  I wanted to share some more of my December Daily pages that I have completed.

Day 11 -  While I was out shopping (which I HATE to do) at the mall I took pictures of Holiday decorations. The photos kind of make me feel cheerful today compared to the dread I had going on while I was shopping!  Receipts are for present purchases...
Day 12 - I took a few photos of Santa at the mall...  I will be documenting Santa memories of my sons and I from when we were young.
Day 13 - This will be a unique day to document...  So glad it happened in December!  I took a screen shot of my computer at 10:11. I am a numbers person so this was a lot of fun for me!!!
Day 14 - My version of Warm & Cozy...  A quilt, Christmas socks, peanut blossom cookies, a candles glow, and a cup of French Vanilla cappuccino.  I'm probably watching scrapbook videos or Christmas movies (or at least chick flicks)...
Day 15 - We finally received 1/2" of snow.  I was beginning to worry we would not get any!  High of 25 degrees F that morning, and it slowly got colder all day.
Day 16 - I received my first Christmas card from my older sister.
It is great to be caught up. :)  I have printed my photo for today already, but I won't be posting until after the weekend.  Hope you are having a great scrappy day!!!

This Life Lived and Documented

Welcome scrappy friends!  My last layout of today is from Sketch N Scrap Inspired by Sketch #12.
This layout is about my youngest son and how important family is to him.

Supplies:  background paper is Pink Paislee Remarkable, scraps of papers are from 24/Seven Simple Stories collection, and the rest of the papers are from my scrap bin. The cork banner is from StickABilities.

The sketch can be found here.
Thank you for looking...

December Daily 7 - 10

December 7 - Everyone started writing their Christmas list...
December 8 - Christmas music...  My middle and youngest son hate Christmas music.  My favorite song is Silent Night.  My oldest son's favorite Christmas song is Redneck 12 Days of Christmas.
December 9 - Christmas movies...  My oldest son's favorite Christmas movie is Home Alone (the original).  My middle and youngest son's favorite Christmas movie is The Nightmare Before Christmas.  My favorite movie is A Charlie Brown Christmas.   I still need to purchase Home Alone so we can watch the movies together soon.
December 10 - I went to visit our local winter wonderland.  I will be documenting what it was like to go to my Grandma's house on Christmas Eve and drive past a winter wonderland as a tradition.
I have also been working on some goodies to use on my Christmas Eve/Day pages.

I watched the video tutorial to make the Double Pocket Card  that I will be inserting my 2 books.

The following is the video tutorial I watched to make the Waterfall Book.

Having a lot of fun making pages and using up scraps.

Welcome back scrappy friends!  This layout was inspired by December Week 2 sketch from Let's Get Sketchy
The layout is about the bond of my middle son and his Aunt Sue.  He is saying goodbye on Thanksgiving.

Supplies: everything on this layout is from my scrap bin.  It was great to use up some of my things.

The sketch can be found here.

Thank you for stopping by...  another post coming soon...
